DESCRIPTION:Carers Festival 2026\nCome along to our annual Carers Festival held in celebration of national Carers Week 2026! This free event is a chance to celebrate the contribution of unpaid carers\, find out more about available support and connect with local services.\nFree activities and refreshments will also be available\, while stocks last.\n\nThe festival will take place on Wednesday 10 June 2026\, from 10.00am to 5.00pm\, at The Open Market on London Road. It is free to attend and open to unpaid carers and the wider public.\nThere’s no need to book – just come along on the day. We look forward to seeing you there!\n  \n\nOther Carers Week Goings On: \n  \n\n\nSunday 7th June\nRotary Family Festival at Hove Park\, 11:00am – 4:30pm\nThis year we will be taking part in the Rotary Family Festival\, supporting The Big Help Out\, at Hove Park on Sunday 7 June 2026 (11am-4:30pm). You’ll find us at stall number 55 in Zone 1\, alongside lots of other charity\, business and craft stalls. There will be much else on offer during the day too\, including live entertainment\, a dog show\, children’s fun day and international food stalls and a craft and small business area. \nIf you’re heading along\, do pop by and say hello! \n  \n\nTuesday 9th June\nCarers Workshop at Brighton Station Practice Plus\nBrighton Station Practice Plus surgery will be hosting a Carers Workshop for their patients\, to provide unpaid carers with more information about their rights and available support. Christiane from The Carers Centre Primary Care Link Worker Team will be joining on the day to share information on support The Carers Centre offers and to chat with unpaid carers. \n  \nWednesday 10th June\nCarers Festival at the Open Market\, 10:00am – 5:00pm \n\nOver 20 stalls showcasing products and services for unpaid family/friend carers in Brighton & Hove. This year’s theme is ‘Building Carer Friendly Communities’ and the day will be an opportunity to connect with local support\, meet other carers and share what carer friendly communities mean to you. \n  \n\n\nThursday 11th June\nCarer Information Stand at Warmdene Surgery\, 10:30am – 12:30pm\n\nHosted by The Carers Centre Primary Care Link Worker in partnership with Warmdene Surgery\, an information and advice ‘pop-up’ for patients\, or unpaid carers of patients registered at Warmdene surgery. \n  \nFriday 12th June \n\n\nEast Brighton Health Hub at Robert Lodge\, BN2 5FG\, 10:00am – 1:00pm\nChristiane\, our Primary Care Link Worker will be heading along to the East Brighton Health Hub at Robert Lodge\, BN2 5FG to speak with unpaid carers.\nMore information can be found on the East Brighton PCN website

SUMMARY:Carers Wellbeing Walk
DESCRIPTION:Walking is simple\, free and one of the easiest ways to be more active\, lose weight and become healthier.\nJoin the Carers Centre Team and other carers each month as we enjoy short accessible walks in beautiful surroundings followed by a wonderful chat and a coffee or hot chocolate afterwards. \nEach month we walk somewhere different to allow us to enjoy some of the wonderful sights and scenary in and around Brighton and Hove and our surrounding area. \nWe usually walk on the last Wednesday of the month (whatever the weather) \nEach month we walk for approximately 30 minutes to an hour depending on the location and the needs of the group. There are plenty of opportunities to take short breaks and sit down (where available)\, usually returning to or near to our meeting place for some well earned warm drinks and conversation. \nSuitable for all ages and abilities\, Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. (Maybe bring a drink and sunscreen or brolly). \nThe Carers Walking Group is a Free activity (unless you fancy a slice of cake at the end)

DESCRIPTION:Do you support someone who could not manage without your help?\nCome along to our Carers Festival to find out what support is available to unpaid carers in the city and enjoy free activities and refreshments. \nWe are delighted that on Wednesday 11 June we will once again be hosting our free annual Carers Week Carers Festival in celebration of unpaid carers in Brighton & Hove. This years event will be our biggest since 2019 as we return to The Open Market on London Road for the day. \nCarers Week this year has the theme of “Caring about Equality” and we will be joined by organisations from across the city to tell carers all about the support they can offer. \nAs well as information and advice\, the event will recognise the incredible efforts of unpaid carers by providing wellbeing activities to try out. There will also be free refreshments for carers (while stocks last)\, and of course our friendly team will be on hand to answer any questions or signpost to relevant support. \nWe will be having wellbeing activities\, Reflexology\, QiGong\, Seated Yoga\, a puzzle table and more. \nNo need to book\, just come along on the day. \nOther Carers Weeks Goings On\nMonday 9th June\,\nCarer Information Stand in the Louisa Martindale Lobby at RSCH\, 10am – 3pm\nCollaboration between The Carers Centre Hospital Link Workers and UHSX’s Staff Carer Network. \nMonday 9th June\,\nHove Museum of Creativity\, 10.30am to 2.30pm\nFree to wander and look at exhibits plus info/advice stand by us!
