SUMMARY:Carers Wellbeing Walk
DESCRIPTION:Walking is simple\, free and one of the easiest ways to be more active\, lose weight and become healthier.\nJoin the Carers Centre Team and other carers each month as we enjoy short accessible walks in beautiful surroundings followed by a wonderful chat and a coffee or hot chocolate afterwards. \nEach month we walk somewhere different to allow us to enjoy some of the wonderful sights and scenary in and around Brighton and Hove and our surrounding area. \nWe usually walk on the last Wednesday of the month (whatever the weather) \nEach month we walk for approximately 30 minutes to an hour depending on the location and the needs of the group. There are plenty of opportunities to take short breaks and sit down (where available)\, usually returning to or near to our meeting place for some well earned warm drinks and conversation. \nSuitable for all ages and abilities\, Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. DESCRIPTION:Do you support someone who could not manage without your help?\nCome along to our Carers Festival to find out what support is available to unpaid carers in the city and enjoy free activities and refreshments. \nWe are delighted that on Wednesday 11 June we will once again be hosting our free annual Carers Week Carers Festival in celebration of unpaid carers in Brighton & Hove. This years event will be our biggest since 2019 as we return to The Open Market on London Road for the day. \nCarers Week this year has the theme of “Caring about Equality” and we will be joined by organisations from across the city to tell carers all about the support they can offer. \nAs well as information and advice\, the event will recognise the incredible efforts of unpaid carers by providing wellbeing activities to try out. There will also be free refreshments for carers (while stocks last)\, and of course our friendly team will be on hand to answer any questions or signpost to relevant support. \nWe will be having wellbeing activities\, Reflexology\, QiGong\, Seated Yoga\, a puzzle table and more. \nNo need to book\, just come along on the day. \nOther Carers Weeks Goings On\nMonday 9th June\,\nCarer Information Stand in the Louisa Martindale Lobby at RSCH\, 10am – 3pm\nCollaboration between The Carers Centre Hospital Link Workers and UHSX’s Staff Carer Network. \nMonday 9th June\,\nHove Museum of Creativity\, 10.30am to 2.30pm\nFree to wander and look at exhibits plus info/advice stand by us! Cafe onsite but refreshments not provided – please purchase your own. \nWednesday 11th June\nCarers Festival at the Open Market\, 10am – 4pm\nOver 20 stalls showcasing products and services for unpaid family/friend carers in Brighton & Hove. including Sussex NHS\, Brighton and Hove City Council as well as ourselves\, activity providers and other charities offering support in the city. \nThursday 12th June\,\nCarer Information Stand at Warmdene Surgery\, 10:30am – 12:30pm\nHosted by The Carers Centre Primary Care Link Work Team. DESCRIPTION:It is that time of year again as we lead into the colder months so join us for a Winter Craft session.\nThere will be several winter and festive crafts to choose from\, including Sugar Craft decorations for cakes and craft decorations you can take home and display. \nWe are aware not everybody for a variety of reasons celebrate the Christmas holiday so are making it flexible to those that may want to make Christmas themed decorations but also those who want to just make non festive related decorations. \nThere will be sugar and glue around so please be mindful of your clothing if you want to bring an overall or spare top. \nWe will be supplying tea\, coffee and some light refreshments so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. \nTo book your space please email info@thecarerscentre.org or call 01273 746222
