Young Carers

If you are a parent, teacher, or professional involved with a family you can refer a young carer to us.

We often think of caring as an adult responsibility, be that looking after children or elderly parents. Yet we know that children as young as five are taking on caring responsibilities in Brighton & Hove.

The Carers Centre provides a range of activities and groups for Young Carers, including school holiday activities, creative workshops or our term-time after-school sessions. These activities give Young Carers the opportunity to take a break from their caring role and build up their confidence and social network with other Young Carers. One-to-one support is also available to young carers with complex needs.

If you know a young person who could benefit from our services, consider referring them today.

We’re here to help…

Make a referral

With the carer’s consent, it’s straightforward to make a referral to the Carers Centre, opening up a wealth of dedicated support and advice.

Just so you know, the carer doesn’t have to have a professional’s referral to get in touch with The Carers Centre. If they prefer, they can refer themselves to us.
