Getting support if you are an Adult Carer
Experience carers’ journeys
You’ve come to the right place for support in every stage of your journey as a carer. Let’s get started.

Not sure if you’re a carer?
A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.
Carers are eligible for a wide range of support, including ours. If you think you may be eligible, please make a self-referral.
Looking after yourself
The idea of caring for yourself when you are caring for someone else might seem a bit strange. But it really is true that unless you look after yourself, you’ll find it even tougher to look after them.
Support from The Carers Centre can help you take back your independence, and make sure you get the right help at the right time.
Attend an activity
Our Carers Calendar is a monthly view of all our support groups, regular meet- ups, and ad hoc workshops.
Whether it’s over an actual coffee or a virtual one, all the events on our Carers Calendar are free to attend. We would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Carers in Conversation
Our series ‘Carers in Conversation’ features real carers talking about real caring.
