Volunteer with us

Do you have some time to spare to help support carers? Join us!

We’re always looking for volunteers to join our team.

volunteer

We match your skills with the needs of carers and our organisation.

As a volunteer with The Carers Centre, you can decide how much time you can commit, and when you’ll be available. We’ll give you one-to-one support, guidance and training. And we’ll pay you back any travel and out-of-pocket expenses.

What do I need to know?

How will I benefit?

Being involved in your community, making a difference in someone’s life, opportunity to share something you enjoy, gain valuable experience, provide you with a sense of purpose, can even improve your own wellbeing, self esteem and happiness.

What’s involved?

We currently have opportunities for volunteer office administrators, volunteer drivers to help get carers to group activities and supportive volunteers at the group events that we offer.

What skills do I need?

Have a skill or hobby you can share with carers, office experience or experience of driving as part of your job. Other useful skills include enthusiasm, good people skills, being a good communicator, commitment, compassion, good time management and the ability to plan!

How will you support me?

There will be one-to-one support from the Volunteer Coordinator, with an induction and ongoing training, as well as regular group volunteer meetings.

Your time

You can choose how much time you commit to the project and when you will be available.
